Montgomery County Property Tax
The Auditor calculates the property taxes based on the property’s appraised value. The taxes are the source of funding for counties, cities, towns, villages, school districts, and special districts, which are used to maintain roads, fund public services like parks and libraries, and pay for law enforcement and fire protection. The first half property tax due date for 2023 is February 17, 2023, and the second half due date is July 14, 2023. How to Pay the Property Taxes?
There are a variety of options for you to pay the property taxes in Montgomery County as follows.
Pay Online: The Point and Pay Page is provided for you to pay the taxes online.
You can make a one-time payment or set up an account. Please note that applicable fees will be charged. For e-check, $0.50 per transaction; for credit cards, 2.3% of total payment; for debit cards, $2.95 per transaction.
Pay In Person: You can pay your property taxes at the office of the Montgomery County Treasurer. Cash, personal checks, credit/debit cards, cashier’s checks, and money orders are accepted. The payment by credit/debit cards will also charge a fee as mentioned above.
Pay By Phone: To make a phone payment, you have to call Point and Pay directly at 833-819-5111. This automated system is free of charge. If you want to get help from a live Point and Pay representative, please call 877-495-2729. This service will charge a fee of $5 per transaction.
Pay By Mail: You can mail your taxes using a personal check, cashier’s check, or money order. Cash and credit/debit cards are not accepted by mail. The mailing address is shown in the contact information of the Montgomery County Treasurer below.
